A Message from the Executive Director

Hello from Floyd County, Kentucky! The dedicated staff and wonderful residents of the Floyd County Housing Authority extend a warm welcome to our website. We are a small housing agency that serves 172 families in our low-rent properties. Capacity to serve 301 Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8 HUD) families. Twenty-five (25) Mainstream elderly and disabled Housing Choice Voucher families. We also manage Hope Homes & Friends Apartments, an elderly facility which houses twelve (12) one-bedroom apartments for person(s) over 62.

Looking through our website you will find that we have a homelessness preference for our low-rent and voucher programs. We maintain a Family Self-Sufficiency Program for our residents in low-rent and voucher programs. You will find tips on how to apply for assistance with your rent, find a townhouse or garden apartment in one of 5 locations throughout the county, and many more services.

The Housing Authority of Floyd County was established in 1973, with the purpose of providing decent, safe, and sanitary housing at an affordable cost. Over 50 years later the Housing Authority of Floyd County strives to provide a hand up to its residents and other very low- and moderate-income families, moving them along the continuum of success.  

We are dedicated to providing excellent housing with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.
